One of the tenets of the Buddhist idea of mindfulness is the following: an attentive awareness of the present moment. After being introduced to this idea in Todd Kashdan‘s book Curious?, I haven’t been able to let it go, which I am happy for because it has had a significant impact on my life. It is easy for us to spend too much time thinking about past events or wondering about future ones – so much so that we miss out on opportunities in the present. The cartoon above is a gentle reminder to keep your mind aligned with your body in the only time we ever actually have – the present.
