Yesterday I completed my first ‘official’ graphic recording gig, and it was a success! The Portland-based group Biomimicry Oregon put on a Genius of Place workshop that focused on the state of urban stormwater systems and how we can use nature as a model to improve the form and function of those systems. The 50 workshop attendees came from a broad range of public and private sector positions to learn the key priniciples of biomimicry and brainstorm ways of implementing those ideas in the context of Portland’s stormwater system. I attended with my sketchbook in hand and captured as many ideas as I could:
I had a blast at the workshop. The ideas came fast, and I definitely didn’t catch all of them, but I enjoyed getting down what I could. The cool topic and interesting group of people made it fun as well. Thanks to Biomimicry Oregon for having me attend!
