From 2009 to 2013, environmental scientist and marine ecologist Jane Lubchenco served as the administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In her recent keynote address at the Public Interest Environmental Law Conference, Lubchenco shared stories from her tenure at NOAA, shedding light on what it takes for a scientist to be heard in Washington, D.C. Her stories were engaging, illuminating, and often funny. Here are some sketchnotes I took while listening to her talk:
